CALL FOR HELP CRISIS HOTLINE: Who can use it? Any resident in Peoria, Tazewell or Woodford Counties who is undergoing a personal crisis can call a 24 hour emergency telephone service. Our hotline is manned by trained volunteers who listen, provide support and make referrals. Volunteers complete a training class and are carefully screened. Class is offered spring, summer and fall. Two hours of Illinois Central College credit is available. In Peoria, call 673-7373 to speak with a volunteer. In Tazewell or Woodford Counties, there is a toll free number available: 1-888-799-7373. TEENS NEED TEENS (TNT) CRISIS HOTLINE: Who can use it? Any teen in the Peoria, Tazewell or Woodford Counties who is going through a personal crisis can call a limited hours emergency telephone service. Our hotline is manned by trained TEEN volunteers who listen, provide support and make referrals. Classes are offered spring, summer and fall.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Mon - Thurs 3 PM - 10 PM
Friday 3 PM - Midnight
Sat / Sun NOON - Midnight

COMMUNITY RESPONSE TEAM (CRT): CRT responds to community crisis or
disasters in the tri - county area in order to alleviate traumatic
stress. The debriefings held by trained volunteers are private and
confidential. They are held at a secure site at the request of any
tri - county individual,agency or business. If you or someone you
know needs a debriefing, please call 673-7373 or 1-888-799-7373

SURVIVORS OF SUICIDE: A local non-denominational, non-discriminatory,
confidential support group that meets every First and Third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Meetings are held at Methodist Medical Center, 4th floor, Cafateria Conference Room #1. For more information, please call 697-3342 or 692-1766.

The Mental Health Association survives through the generous donation of time from local persons interested in going through our training class and becoming volunteers. If you are interested in training for the Adult Crisis Hotline, the Teen Crisis Hotline(must be between the ages of 14 and 20 please call 692-1766 for more information.
